Before we came across Mario’s Travel Channel we didn’t know much about Rila Monastery or the Seven (7) Rila Lakes. However, both have so much history and an abundance of natural and architectural beauty. The distance between the two is approximately 90km and Borovetz makes for a fantastic base point to not only visit these two Bulgarian landmarks but to also enjoy one of the most popular ski towns in the country. You can see the 7 Rila Lakes in ‘Best of 2019’.
